Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accusations against the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal for promoting violence, corruption, and chaos, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asserted on Friday that a "malicious and false campaign" has been launched against her administration, driven by political motives.
During a rally in Alipurduar, North Bengal, on Thursday, the Prime Minister referenced the Murshidabad riots and the teacher recruitment scam, claiming that the citizens of the state are eager to oust the "ruthless government."
In a post on the social media platform X, Banerjee stated, "A malicious and false campaign was conducted in Alipurduar, motivated by politics."
She further claimed, "This campaign aimed to undermine and erase the significant developmental work our government has accomplished for the people of Alipurduar district."
